A home, not an institution
The Gables is a converted house with space for up to 11 people. Being small means everyone knows each other, and staff get to know each person well: their routines, what they enjoy and what helps on a difficult day.
Your room
People are welcome to bring their own furniture and belongings and to choose how their room is decorated. Rooms have points for a television and telephone.
Meals
Meals are flexible and planned around what people like to eat. There is a residents’ kitchenette, and people who want to build their cooking skills are supported to do so.
Days at The Gables
Activities are arranged every day, and people choose what they take part in. These include:
- gardening and time in the garden
- trips out in our minibus
- shopping, cafés and local groups
- hobbies, games, music and films
- visits with family and friends
Close to everything
The bus stop, shops, post office and GP surgery are all a short walk away. Bedlington town centre and the Northumberland coast are easy to reach.
Visiting
Family and friends are welcome. Please call ahead so we can make sure the person you’re visiting is in. Pets may be welcome by arrangement.
